- Presented a summary of activities to UCIST on Friday October 17, 2008.
- Created an automatic lockout script for myWaterloo and usually catch spammers hijacking accounts over the weekends (including Halloween).
- moved users to a new ecfile2 (roaming profile server), the disk access was too slow to support the load between classes so new 15krpm disks were purchased and put into an external RAID enclosure.
- we were just about to interview people for Paul's position when... myWaterloo upgrades will be waiting until the summer.
- Mike found and fixed a remote exploit bug in the twiki on schooner which had been used as a denial of service attack off campus.
- the Nexus active directory JET database got corrupted on one of the domain controllers. Manual intervention was required to rebuild the database. For a few hours incorrect data was presented by the affected domain controller.
