This whole arrest thing is going to cause so many problems now. It will cause a few people to believe that there is an entire race out to get us, which will reinforce some other people's view that they are being treated unfairly, even though it is only by a select group of people and the rest of society doesn't blame an entire race for what is happening. It's a viscous cycle!

Saving the world, one caught package at a time... How many people get to brag about that? That's kinda cool.

I have been through hell and back.
I was sent to 1 Adelaide East today for extra coverage for what u ask? to prevetn terrorists from slipping in packages of fertilizer in the building and blowing it up cause of the terrorists caught on the weekend. So here is how it ends up for me. 8am i get there, the supervisor has no idea why me and 2 other guards are here and calls to check, at 9 he posts us around and i being the one looking very intimidating with my tactical stuff gets put in the front foyer to check all packages. i dont move from that spot until 1230 while trying to not collapse from only having 3 hours of sleep. i have lunch and back again at 1 until i get off at 5, my god wat a horrible experience that was plus being hit on by some lady *shudder*, i like downtown but this isn't wat i meant.

7 PM phone interview with NVIDIA... It's most likely due to the wonderful time zone difference from the west coast to the east coast.
Richard | |
How do you have a 7PM interview? I thought they all finished at latest 6PM. How'd you end up with the last slot? :P

JobMine Phase 3: Interviews
And so ends the first week of interviews. I've gone through seven so far, I believe...I seemed to live in TC on Tuesday - even the paging lady seem to recognize me. "You're seem to busy today..." Mmmhmm.. considering I was in TC from about 8:30 AM until 3 PM... There was a great variety of interview types. There were one-on-ones, two-on-ones, and even a three-on-one from Scotia Bank/Scotia Intek. They didn't seem too interested and they were late by 15 minutes. That interview only lasted 15 minutes. The Sears Intranet Portal interviewers seemed interested and they were 15 minutes early. It last a whole 45 minutes. Good thing I was prepared and arrived in TC 30 minutes early to cool off... Speaking of cooling off, it was so hot at the beginning of the week that most people arrive ta least 30 minutes early just to sit there to cool off and wait for their sweat-drenched shirts to dry before heading into their respective interviews. Later in the week, it started raining...thunderstorms and flashes of power outages. I heard it was quite an interesting experience for those involved in interviews during the time when the lights started flashing on and off while in the middle of answering the employer's question... I haven't seemed to run into any weird questions yet. No "Have you ever pwned a n00b?"-type questions yet... So far, it's been pretty routine - the usual mix of behavioural and technical. I can't say that they've gone well or bad, because you just never know until the rankings come out...and that happens this coming Friday. I was supposed to have an IBM phone interview on Wednesday, but the employer never called in... hmmm... it has since been rescheduled for next week. Between now and Friday, I've still got interviews lined up on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Monday is NVIDIA: Performance Analyst Intern. Tuesday is ATI: 2D Component Devleopment. Wednesday is IBM: Websphere Commerce Software Tester. Thursday is a two-interview day. ATI: Associate Applications Engineering and IBM: Websphere Application Server. I really do hope I can have the opportunity to contribute, make a difference and advance in a related-field this coming co-op term. Thursday is also the start of mid-term exams! Joy! And my mid-term exams schedule is as follows: Thursday, Friday, Next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Five straight days of. Joy! Add that to our plate of projects, labs and interviews, it's going to be two crazy weeks. Excuse me if I disappear during the next little while... Sometimes I envy those with only one interview... Sometimes, that's all you need. Because you're that good... Good luck to everyone on your mid-terms, interviews, co-op jobs, summer jobs, and exciting adventures - whatever they may be...
