we really should start a pool lol

At least 12 months. Probably more. I think he'll even serve out the full term. Why?
1) Martin's stepped down, they need to elect a new party leader. 2) The Liberals, NDP, and the independent together do not form a majority. They must get the help of the Bloc and with everything that Harper's said about giving more control to provinces, Quebec looks like they'll support the Conservatives. 3) Canadians don't want another election so soon. 4) Harper's coming in without any baggage, except everyone comparing him to Bush. Martin came in with the sponsorship scandal (regardless of whether or not he was involved) on his coattails.

I don't know who you're "Dan T." but we need to start some sort of easy how-long-is-harper-staying-around-for bets with the conservative-lovers. That'll show them what capitalism is all about... ripping off the socialists. =D
Dan T. | |
hmm...the next 18 months (should it last that long) are gonna get mighty interesting...
Raymond | |
Lets pray and hope that's the case

they won't even last a year :P
Raymond | |
Let the year of hell and complaining begin, bring it on Conservatives
Scott | |
As I was saying... voting in this election is as easy as picking teams from the last two kids on the playground.
Scott | |
Jealous of my special ballot? =P
Scott | |
Hey what the heck, you deleted my post! :O!
Scott | |
Yes, and MS renewed their $5 timmy offer once again. We managed to get a few around the office going today ;)
And for the record, MS stock went down today.

Windows Live Mail Beta
Mmm... Outlook at work during the day, come home, and more Outlook-like interface for "hotmail". Windows Live Mail Beta goes the AJAX route for a quicker and spiffier interface. I've tried Windows Live.com, Windows OneCare Live and Windows Live Mail so far. There's nothing not to like yet. ![]() Visit http://ideas.live.com for more Windows Live stuff. Speaking of Windows, did you know that UW students can potentially get TWO legal CD-keys for Windows XP Professional from the UW MSDN-AA Software Center? Are our UW XP licences for single workstations? or multiple?

Or like Diddy's famous / stupid slogan for the 2004 US election: Vote or die.
Raymond | |
That's right, Vote or Shut up
Dan T. | |
TOMORROW, JAN. 23.
VOTE. If you haven't recieved your voter's registration card, you can still vote. Bring ID with you to your nearest polling station with proof of address and signature. It's your country, your government. No excuses. Go spoil your ballot if you have to. But don't vote and you have no right to complain about anything until next election. Period.

Canadian Undergraduate Technology Conference (CUTC) 2006 - Day 3
![]() This past Saturday was the last day of CUTC 2006. As the conference went on, the food got better, just like day 2. It all culminated with a beautiful mousse dessert... which Charing etched "CUTC" into her serving as depicted above. GE's Craig Young talked about many of the innovative things that GE had in it's product portfolio - it's not just about toasters and microwaves. Adrian Hartog of ATI gave a general overview of what was to come in the digital revolution. The Nortel seminar showed some interesting telecommunications technologies. The speaker was Matthew Lok from the Nortel Research Centre (or something like that) in CEIT of Waterloo. Werner Vogels, CTO of Amazon.com was entertaining with his presentation on Amazon.com and web services. Dan won an iPod Nano from this keynote presentation. Sweeeet. As usual, select photos from the event: http://www.ece.uwaterloo.ca/~atruong/cutc06_day3/
