One midterm down...4 to go - one a day next week starting Monday with the dreaded Math 211 - Advanced Calculus 1.

Earlier today was MSCI 211 - Organizational Behaviour. It was the weirdest exam i've ever written - 50 minutes long, in a room filled with students at every seat, no empty chairs in between to space out, 3 short answer and 12 multiple choice. Whoa.

The short answers are short, short. As in a few sentences is worth 12 marks. WTH? Are these three sentences work 12 marks? 4 marks for periods, 5 marks for commas? The multiple choice was...iffy. The prof told us that we didn't need to memorize all those perception, personaly, emotion, needs theory names and the specifics...just apply them... Yea right. BS!

Anyway...No UW Photo Club Niagara Falls trip for me this weekend. Not enough people signed up to go and it's smack in the midddle of midterms. Everyone's tired and stressed. Next term...next term...right, Miss? Yes YOU can organize it.

Back to staring at calculus...

boring == silent killers

Raymond
Or stuff you might need to remember for a mid term that isn't in the textbooks *hinthint*

borning != lots of information

Raymond, Raymond, Raymond...oh you crack me up sometimes...

(Eww...a fly is crawling around my notebook...shoo! shooOO!)

Tim, we both seemed to have had quite an eventful weekend. Though I'm sure it could have been even more eventful...

Next time we'll go together if you're free..and drag Miss Alice along...she's always waiting for a chance to play with my camera =P

Some wedding photographers don't mind mingling with the family photographers if they're pay doesn't come from selling prints. But some of the ones who do however... but they know that their photos will be better than the family ones 99% of the time. So it doesn't matter. Pro wedding photographers vs. family photographers...touchy subject in some forums...

bio-chem...mmm...
silicon and electrons for meeee...

Tim
Raymond, I don't think lawyers make up the laws... I'd be pretty scared if they do. =|

Alex, looks like you had an eventful weekend as well. Haha, I love the photos with the energizer bunny. I have to attend one of them photographic/digital imaging show with you one day.

The D1X was ginormously heavy, but I didn't even get to take ONE SINGLE PICTURE with it, I was in such a rush. =(

Maybe it's time for you to get a business card? haha, moving up in the "real" world, lol.

P.S. The photographer at my cousin's wedding thought I was insane or something. Usually families fight for a spot when taking photos, but I was all "If I'm in your way, tell me". The guy is getting paid to do his job after all.

P.P.S. There were way too many rich Asians showing off their minimum setup-ed dSLR at the wedding going "I'm a pro at photahhhh-grapheee".

Phew, now that's finall off my chest, I can study bio-chem in peace... ewww.

Photographic Weekend

Once again, Henry's Photographic and Digital Imaging Show was at the International Centre this past weekend.

It didn't seem as busy and full of things to see as the spring one that I went to, but it was great as usual. I got to talk to a lot of people about photography...some random salespeople about products, some random photographers about photography, some random people this and that. There was an Olympus fashion show... it was kinda... cheesy... I was just there to see what was new in half a year. There were some new photo printers for one... and gosh, they are amazing. I got to print some of my photos on them. Very nice. Very nice. Come by and I'll show you some photos I printed.

But that wasn't the best part of my photo-ing weekend, the best part was I got to use a Nikon D1X dSLR + 17-35 mm f/2.8 lens + SB-800 Speedlight for the weekend! AHHhhh so solid, so good, so heavy! The thing feels indestructable with its metal body and rubber grips. The great thing about these pro dSLRs is the beautiful large viewfinder, the vertical orientation grip and shutter release, the stepless shutter release, the speed, the options, the things people ask you when you walk around with it! (At the photoshow, the Epson guy ask for my card...ummm.. I.. dont... have.. one...)

The D1X is an older model, so it doesn't have the great new features of the D2X/D2H or D70, but it's just fun to use, especially with a Nikon Pro lens. The 17-35mm was a complete was on this 1.5X FOV camera (12-24mm DX is the digital equivalent, but that's f/4 i think...), but it was so great in the range it covered. Colours are nice. Bokeh is beautiful. f/2.8. mmm. 77mm diameter thread. that's huge. I though my 18-70mm DX lens was huge, but this 17-35mm ED lens was massive and heavy.So much glass, so solid. I only wish I has the 17-55mm f/2.8 DX lens to play with instead. =D Is that too much to ask? Oh boy. Oh yea, and the D1X doesn't do Nikon's Creative Lighting System (wireless flash)...too old. but my D70 does! With 2 SB-800's, that's 10 AA batteries that's being consumed. (hmm, the UW Photo Club Bi-weekly Photo Contest theme is "Consumption" this time around...hmm)

I'm waiting for my chance to play with a D2X with a 17-55mm ED-IF DX lens... wishful thinking... waiting... waiting... for now, back to my D70. The D70 with the 18-70mm lens feel soooooo light now. Featherweight infact. Nooo problem-o. Photo-ing with the D1X (with pro lens and SB-800) is a major workout.

Raymond
Screw that I'm tired of reading 100 years of law, makes you wonder what the lawyers where smoking when they up some of the laws.

Alex T.
Oh, Raymond... you can always get yourself a notebook like that... just have a k or two kickin' around and anything's possible!

Most of Waterloo is still green-ish, it's just very selected trees that have turned red or yellow.

vanessa, you can always try em and tell me if they're edible...I'll bring some home next time! =D

Raymond! Stealing is illegal! You of all people should know that! =O hahahaha
