| It's not like I'm getting a choice in who I get to see play the Supersonics, and frankly, I don't care who's playing since I don't follow basketball at all.
I would understand if they didn't allow SLR's at all because it really can get annoying when someone's trying to enjoy the game while a nearby person is busy pointing his glass around and slapping shutters at 5 FPS throughout the game. Having said that, camera phones are even more annoying because there's going to be no results... Maybe it's time to get teleconverters or a Four-Thirds camera. It's 2x either way! =P I don't plan on bringing my dSLR to the game, but I always have my P&S with me. If all else fails, there's always the annoying camera phone! I just wanna go watch.

| but at skydome, i mean Rogers Centre, 70-300? noooooooo problem lol. | |
| Dan T. | |
| well when you have two bottom feeders, it's better. having one bottom feeder and one good team just leads to a crappy game cause your home team (the supersonics) are, well, about to get their behinds handed to them lol.
yeah, same at the ACC. couldn't use my 70-300 there. i was just able to get my 18-70 in ok. good thing they don't know about the 1.5x maginification =D

| Yeah, the 360 power brick is pretty imposing, but at least the heat isn't directly affecting the internals of the 360. You can park the brick far from the actual unit.
You traded in the LA Lakers for the Chicago Bulls? It's like... well, trading in the 5th best team in the West with one of the bottom feeders in the East. And the Supersonics... yeah... they're not the greatest. Still, should be a close game between the two. Make sure to check the camera restrictions. They told me I couldn't use the 70-200 I borrowed from a co-worker. Something about lenses above a certain focal length (nevermind the stupid ultra-zoom digicams...).

| Day 14 - New workstation
Thursday January 17, 2008 I came back from lunch and I found a giant box sitting on my chair. At the end of the day, I have a quad-core CPU, 4 GB RAM, RAID 1 array and Windows Vista 64-bit goodness all sitting under my desk at work. Finally! I'm free from my previous Pentium 4, 1 GB RAM torture! Actually, I still need that system for dogfooding. I don't like dogs.

| Day 13 - We love our Residents
Wednesday January 16, 2008 This morning was a little nicer. A bit of the snow and ice started to melt from all the traffic on the roads and sidewalks, but the grass and trees were still covered. It did look really pretty though. These signs are posted on the sides of the roads hoping to slow down cars in our neighbourhood so poor people like me can walk safely through the area: ![]()

| Day 12 - Icy Aftermath
Tuesday January 15, 2008 After the previous night's crazy mix of freezing rain and snow, this morning looked like this:
| Katie | |
| Silly you. | |
| Alex T. | |
| I just realized that I wrote 2007 instead of 2008 for a whole bunch of dates... silly me. | |
| Alex T. | |

| wowie how long are you gone for? I'm so out of the loop | |
| Dan H. | |
| Cool.
Ya, the ps3 just hides the power unit inside. Maybe that's why it gets so hot/loud... >.
| Alex T. | |
| It's quite an imposing brick. The PS3 just hides it inside, doesn't it?
Adrian got free tickets from his team. Microsoft is providing tickets for the interns to another basketball game in February, so hopefully we'll get to go then. Seattle Supersonics versus the Chicago Bulls? I believe that's the match-up that's planned...
| Dan T. | |
| yes...the 360 has an incredibly massive power brick. i was taken aback when i first saw one lol. | |
| Dan H. | |
| that is one monster of a 360 power brick...lol
you guys had free basketball tickets?! sweet! how'd you score those?
| Alex T. | |

| Day 11 - Treacherous weather
Monday January 14, 2008 After a beautiful sunny Sunday, Monday turned out to be a disaster. The temperature dramatically dropped and precipitations started to fall leading to rain, cold rain, freezing rain, slush, and snow! There was even accumulation and the snow didn't melt! Snow in Redmond?! The sky is falling! The sky is falling! Today was also the first Microsoft-organized intern social of the term. We gathered at Azteca Mexican Restaurants after work for drinks and appetizers. Since I worked up in North Campus and Azteca was near Building 109 in the south, I shuttled down to 109 and walked it from there. In the Prius shuttle, the driver was getting a little annoyed because of the heavy traffic. Even though it wasn't even 4 PM, the streets were being flooded with cars as employees were leaving work early because it started snowing. Leaving work early because there was white stuff falling from the sky? Interesting... Since the roads were so congested, I got to Azteca late, but good thing the food was continually being replenished. Good food. Good conversations. Good times. Unfortunately, Adrian and I had to leave early because we had these:
So we headed off from Azteca and it took us an hour just to move one mile on the 520 West into Seattle. It was horrific! Now I see why everyone left work early. This was all we saw for an hour:
We then decided that it just wasn't worth it to continue (Good thing we didn't pay for the tickets, or else it would have been a different story). At the next exit, we turned around and headed back into Redmond (which took a whole two minutes) where we stopped by a local Fred Meyer so Adrian could pick up Orange Box for his brand new XBOX 360. Yes, he found finally found one at Circuit City. When he heard there was stock, he jumped out at lunch and returned with a smile since he got the last one they had.

| fun photos, fun times... with the ducks!
I wasn't the one pondering over an XBOX 360. Mr. Adrian, the gamer, was. He didn't want an Elite because there was no 65 nm chip in the Elites? and there were more white-coloured accessories? Something like that...
| Richard | |
| You don't want the Elite? | |
| gloria / www.urbanebloc.com | |
| ooo fun photos | |
| Alex T. | |
| The MS store only has the black Elite. And I'm sure they would have them down the street... | |
| Dan T. | |
| And hahahahhaha, only in the Washington-state area will you see a grocery store with an Office Live logo attached to its site hahahaha. Well, ok, maybe not the only area, but you get my point. | |
| Dan T. | |
| Ducks are awesome =) so are nature trails close to home. Neither of which are available here in Toronto in January. Actually, check that, nature trails aren't available close to home at any point of the year...
Wow, blue skies over the North Pacific states, incredible haha. And, damn, Richmond Town Centre looks nice.
