Okay, now that we're through with the guilt trip part, I say we go celebrate....

Raymond
Hey hey hey I don't start training until september so you wont see me probably until chinese new years in uniform lol unless you have time to come to my graduation in november

Richard
God bless short Asian people... or the Flying Spaghetti Monster for giving the midgets more noodly attention with his appendages.

I'm not crazy.

Scott
Pictures for proof, or you didn't see my good twin brother.

I mean... whoa? really? no way....

Alex T.
And I saw a Scott look-alike at the event!

Shirley Yeung at Splendid China Tower

Last Sunday July 29, 2007 was 梨渦淺笑楊思琦簽唱會 at 錦繡中華. We actually managed to arrive earlier this week, and found a nice spot behind some short people. :)

I thought this was one of the more lively events in this series just because 思琦 actually has the 口才 to keep the talking and keep the audience interested.

It was enjoyable for the most part, except for the time when the jewellery store alarm went off while she was in the middle of a song. That was a tad annoying, but the show must go on!

During the autographing hour after the show, we made our way to the second level to look down onto centre court for a different view. The 10.5mm lens with a 180 degree perspective would have been nice from up there.

Lesson of the day: patience. Waiting the extra hour after the performance had its rewards. There were interesting moments that most people would not have captured because they've already packed their gear away right after the show.

Something else I want to try when if I get my hands on a 70-200mm (or any lens with a tripod collar): mount the flash on the tripod collar instead of the camera hotshoe so that the flash is fixed above the lens in either landscape or portrait orientations.

I think we counted at least eight Auxiliary Toronto Police members dotted around the small event. Hmmm... where's Raymond? :P

I wonder what he's going to do with his phone now that it's autographed:

Thanks Al.

You're the best. =)

Not having an original Xbox myself, my guess would be that the original cable has the proprietary connector to RCA composite video + RCA audio, as most systems do.

Richard
Not having an original Xbox, I wonder what was on the other end of their included video cable? Right now the Xbox 360 comes with that proprietary output connector and a component / RCA split cable (proprietary output --> split component / RCA if that wasn't confusing enough).

Timbo
Nicely done!

Crazy profit margins.

Alex T.
The Advanced AV Pack is just the AV box (an Xbox AV output connecter on one end, and the connections box in the picture), one regular S-Video cable and 2 RCA cables.

The Systems Link Cable is just a normal network cable...but extremely overpriced!

Raymond
you can actually use the xbox cables for other stuff?

Alex T.
98% off the retail price!

Alex T.
Cheap cables!

79 cents for an S-Video cable and two RCA cables. Oh yea, there's also an Xbox AV output box thrown in...haha.

Or how about a very nice 6 meter Ethernet cable with stress-relief ends for 79 cents? Oh yea, you can connect two Xbox systems with it.

Get your very own Microsoft Xbox Advanced AV Pack or Systems Link Cable at Bridlewood Mall Zellers in the Electronics department. It's cheaper and better quality than buying from a dollar store :)

Scott
But, in all seriousness, this position needs to be filled.

Pixel charts is unfortunately the new generation of those data visualization on steroids. However, there's huge money in developing data visualization methods and they are patentable as well.

Interested in innovating data visualization? *Insert Business Objects User Experience plug here* haha

More data-visualization-on-steriods-or-whatever-you-want-to-be-on

Richard
*bleep* (I'll censor myself, Alex :P)

What happened to the pie chart? Those pixel maps are horrendous and difficult to read.

lol, i mean ill-advised as in, "OMG i'm so short on money, i'm living on OSAP...oh look! only $*insert dollar value* to go to *insert destination*! let's go!" you know those people I'm referring to lol.

oh yeaahhhh...i feel my shot-in-the-dark comments are vindicated by that diagram.

woo big m-veleope. should print that out nice and big and post that =D

Pass the M-velope!

Hmmm... I have some interesting ideas for this one...

Workterm report topics?

'tis a very spiffy diagram indeed. Cool!

They still go to ill-advised trip for me! My Magical-Express tags just arrived today, two days after I booked, God bless Disney and their efficiency (One of the 7 cast-member guidelines for excellent guest service!)

Okay, it's not really ill-advised if you manage to get 40%+ discount across the board, including flight (out of TO, thank you very much), rooms, and park tickets! =D

Funny thing though Dan, Wired has featured this spiffy diagram on tech-spendings in the U.S. of A. Apparently they shell out about 5% of their income -- that's more than what they spend on health insurance or Apparels! A reference for Scotty, 20.7% of that 5% tech spending goes to Cellular phone services. Interesting stuff!

Dan T.
student loans money used to go to things such as food and clothing...and the occasional ill-advised trip...

they now go to fulfill technological needs lol...
