Black Friday Morning Part 1: Success!

I made my rounds around Circuit City, Best Buy, Radio Shack and Bellevue Square at 8 AM and I'm back to drop off some goods before heading back out again.

Write-ups later... haha

That reminds me... did I implement the usage instructions in my command line tool last term before I left? Hmmm.... haha

Scott
Errr... its late... I should SLEEP. Econometrics software brainfried me... :(

It is ILLEGAL to ship command-line software without a user manual!!!!!

Scott
@alex, no problem =) I that makes me wonder what Richard and Tim show up as...

Katie
You don't need that many Zunes =P

Alex T.
Deviating from the datamining topic for a moment and going back to Zune...

Buy a 16 GB Zune at BestBuy and get a 4 GB Zune free? Fascinating!

Writing your own resume is one thing, this is more like a virtual head-hunter type of service - could be useful.
ZoomInfo looks similar to LinkedIn, but LinkedIn is more like a professional's friends list/Facebook...

Richard
When I hear Windows Live users whining about how they don't know who they're sharing information with, I think they're just being old-fashioned and ignorant. What I still can't appreciate is this auto-profile generation and information aggregating. I can write my own resume...

Great... I've been employed by Charing... as a cook? haha =P

Thanks a lot, Scott...

Multiplayer Texas Hold'em? I'm there!

Richard
Or pay for new software upgrades if you've got an iPod Touch.

Alex T.
Plug those Zunes in guys and girls. It's time to upgrade to Zune 3.1.
- 3 new games (Checkers, Sudoku and Space Battle)
- Multiplayer Texas Hold 'em
- Improvements to Zune Social
- Other stability updates.

Yayyyyy

All Zune players are upgradeable - even the very original v1 Zunes. iPods? Good luck. Buy a new iPod.

Has anyone given any thought as to whether their online-only sales are a bit of a scam?

Once for the heck of it, I tried going online during their online sale and tried ordering 6 different music CDs. Selected the pick up in-store option...and every single CD was out of stock, everywhere, in Ontario. Every single store - except for one CD at a store in Sault Ste. Marie...

The kicker is that I went into a FS the next day, and I checked a couple of the CDs I'd tried ordering - they were there...and numerous.

Alex T.
Mmm.. Makes perfect sense.

Scott
@Alex, FS/BB has that figured out long time ago though. They'd only give you price match IFF there is stock available in the store when you go in.

Alex T.
The Zune sale thing got me thinking... isn't the best way to buy something that's on sale and to make sure you get it while it's in stock is to buy the item at regular price before the sale while it's in stock and then go get a price adjustment when it does go on sale due to price protection policies? Of course this is assuming you read the ad flyer the day before the sale. Sometimes this comes a few days before in the mail and sometimes ad scans are already on the Internet. Again, depending on the day of the week you get flyers and the day of the week that the sale starts for that particular store...

Hmm...
