I'd be down for some plane spotting. Now that the Whitby Psych hospital is demolished (kicking myself for not going back in 2nd year when we proposed it), I've gotta find somewhere else to waste my time (and safety) with. =P

Does anyone want to go to a free Shrek 3 showing on Saturday? =P
Scott | |
Plane spotting is a very limited activity around Pearson Intl.
The best spot is beside the Fedex building along the north runway, however, you will be "supervised" by a police officer

tim: yes! i've always wanted to go plane-spotting!

I'm extremely worried.
Shrek the third so far has a 46% Tomato meter, and 38% Cream of the Crop! That's even WORSE of a fall than Spidey! Can we say "ouch"? Good news is that the Pirates: At World's End has so far seen a pretty good rating. "Surpasses the 2nd, but not the 1st movie" one reviewer said, which makes me feel a bit better, a bit. On the other hand, the new Transformer Trailer looks ammmmazing, than again, so does all the trailers.

Truongs, let's do this sometime, with our camera and gears in hand, of course.

ATI Radeon HD 2000 Series
Yes people, the ATI R600 line of graphic cards have been released/introduced. And when I mean the line, yes I mean a whole line: 5 desktop discrete cards, and 5 mobile notebook discrete parts, top to bottom, for a grand total of 10 ATI Radeon HD 2000 series products. Today at AMD Markham, we had a celebration for the launch. Boy, the Ruby demo looks amazing. The most interesting thing that caught my attention was that the new line of cards are able to output a complete HDMI signal (video and audio) through the DVI ports through a dongle. That's just way too cool.

Disturbia was a pretty good movie, I agree =).
And Al, forget about watching that thing on a dinky little screen, the weekend sounds good, I'll bike your bike over, lol.
Richard | |
Just watched Disturbia and Next (Nicholas Cage). Both were short but enjoyable; Disturbia's definitely the better of the two due to the stupid plot twist at the end of Next. If you've got an afternoon to kill and don't have anything to do, download'em because they really should be put together as a double feature.

Welcome to Review Nation...
So does anyone else have anything to review? =D BTW, you can watch Heroes online. I'm busy tonight and tomorrow night. Or there's the weekend...
Timbo | |
Al, let me know if I can join you for Monday's missed Heroes. =D

Well Raymond,
I thought the drama was great, the action scenes are definitely secondary elements of the film, although due to the incoherent transitions between scenes, and the non-sense, non-stop inclusion of little kids screaming "Wicked COOL!" (Seriously, Spidey's cool, WE GET THE POINT!) makes the entire film slightly slow and awkward -- The drama never built on itself, rather, it seems like things just "happens". The film only starts to pick-up a little after Spidey gets his black suite, I actually liked the jazz dance scene (you'll know what I mean when you see the movie), I thought it was a very Peter Parker Way to take revenge on his girlfriend. The characters were actually juggled pretty darn well, instead, it's the lack of presence of the Villains that makes this movie fall right on its *ss. Sand-Man felt like an emo teenager trapped in an adult's body, and I don't think a single person in the theatre cared for him one bit. Venom's lack of heartlessness and brutality disappoints all Venom fans (including me). The threat and stakes really wasn't there, and it turns makes it hard for the viewer to stomach the character developments, leaving everyone wanting a lot more than what was given. Go see it only if you really want to, it's really not a "bad" movie per say, just average. If nothing else, the last battle scene will definitely not disappoint, just prepare yourself first and realize that this movie is comprised of 25 minutes of action sequences out of the entire two and a half hours movie. You are also welcome to save the $9.50 and watch it later at my place when the DVD comes out, free popcorn and drinks provided, not to mention semi-comfortable couches. 6.4/10 (No rounding up for you!).
