Class of 2006 Pub Crawl – On Friday November 22 MIT planned and arranged a Pub Crawl for all those in the Engineering Class of 2006.  The event was to celebrate 1185 Days 'Till IRS.  By complete coincidence another class member, Jess, also had her birthday that day.  This was looking to be a great night.  The night started off at McMullans Pub on King St. where everyone was to meet up.  We were surprised to find a group of crazy members of the " – π" fraternity (apple pie, get it?) After explaining to them that hard hats were not for stealing, they proved to be a great bunch of people.  They all helped us sing a loud happy birthday song to Jess.  At about 8:00 a group of people wearing Kilkenny clothes walked into the bar carrying a foosball table!  It turns out their was a tournament going to held that night.  As not to let down Engineering pride two teams were entered in the tournament.  Mike and Chris and Paul and James.  The two teams were slotted into different pools, a class of 2006 final looked promising.  Although it was not to be.  Both teams made it through the first round,  Paul and James lost and were eliminated.  However Chris and Mike continued to win.  They made the finals and destroyed the completion 10-3! Mike and Chris both won rugby style Kilkenny shirts, and towels.

After McMullans the party was moved up to the Barley Works in the Heuher Hotel.  We met up with the Class of 2003 Pub Crawl, alas for them its only 88 days til IRS!  Alex Matan and Janna Hickson were challenged by the 2003’ers to get as much phone numbers from the opposite sex as possible and we were all happy to oblige.  After a short stay at the Heuther the party was moved to Town Bowl for some bowling!!  I think this was probably the first pub crawl to end up at a bowling alley.  Well it was a cosmic atmosphere, and the tunes were blasting so everyone had a great time.  Again the entire place joined us sing happy birthday to Jess.  As we left the bowling alley it was know only 1184 days until IRS! The last stop on the crawl was a stop in to the Silver Spur, which means Karaoke!  After some more drinks and fun the ladies of the group got up there and sang that 80s hit “I Touch Myself” by The Divinyls.  The rest of the night was spent dancing and singing to bad Karaoke in a badly western themed bar.  What could be better?
