Engineering Departmental Moves

 

The Chemical Engineering move to E6 has percipitated various other departmental moves. Switches were removed, renumber, renamed, re-vlaned and TR re-keyed in DWE second floor. The remaining Systems design staff in DC are moving into this area.

 

Engineering Machine room move

 

Engineering Computing is moving it's servers from PHY to a new server room in E5. Racks are in and fibre layed and terminated. Working with IST to determine best 10GBe switch to install.

DHCP conversion and IP cleanup

 

Ongoing. Most of EIT has been converted to using DHCP. Mechanical Engineering has started moving their clients. No new updates

 

Engineering 10 Gig Fibre Upgrades

 

Ongoing. Planning to connect our main backup server to the network at 10 Gigs to reduce "full backups" and a few other critical servers.
