Discussion:

DC/CIM Switch Management

Engineering departments need access to switch management for their areas in the DC and CIM buildings. ICR is doing management of E&CE devices, other departments are doing their own. Erick will work with Kim Martin to ensure passwords are made available.

CFI Clarification

All CFI-eligable purchase requests must go through Paula.

Waterloo Polaris Application Filers

Dennis mentioned how the 18 GB application filer disk filled and wonderred what steps are to be taken to prevent this from happenning again. (At time of writing there are 477 MB free)

MRTG Switch Monitors

Eng Comp is running MRTG software to watch some switches, support added for E3 and DWE core switches would be helpful.

Active Directory and W2K Update

Erick described the critical decision of centralized/decentralized control facing the Active Directory committee which would be discussed the next day.

Polaris for Windows 2000 Early Adoptee Program

Early adoptees to be accepted within a month. The timing is partly based on the timing of the decision of the Active Directory committee.

Eudora Reliability

Erick asked if Eudora 4's reliability is better worse than any other release, and if an upgrade/downgrade would be recommended, nobody knew the answer.
