Erick: Can the 100 half/full/auto mismatch problems be solved by September? The answer from everyone was yes.
Dennis: Any CFI funding news? Beth answered no news until Fall.
Erick: Many details about Bell HSE. Can an account number be used for HSE was brought up and Beth believes the answer is yes with the possible exception of NSERC funding.
Erick: GUIBOOT discussion and afterwards a demonstration in the GAFF including an HTML viewer already on the desktop. Timeline to be met is the beginning of the Fall term for all labs. Several suggestions were made on future extensions to GUIBOOT.
Erick: Still aiming as a minimum having 1st year students getting their N: drives from the NetApp by default the final decision will come mid August. A mini meeting that was had internally (Bruce, Erick, Steve and Ray) felt that if all goes well (i.e.. the network problems are all fixed soon) it wouldn't be too inconvenient to move others over at their request sometime after the school term starts. ESAG has not yet made a decision on if this is acceptable as testing of GUIBOOT has just barely begun and NetApp N: drives testing hasn't yet begun. Will be discussed again next ESAG meeting.
Bernie: Password synchronization for P: drive, Bernie elected to get details from Bruce. Mirroring the Application file servers was also brought up, details to be worked out between Erick and Bernie.
Beth: CAS support by IST is a high priority item so it seems as if unified printing using the CAS accounting system could be possible. Dennis was wondering about alternatives.
WPAG minutes were brought up by Dave, many of the same topics were discussed.
Mike: Using the Application servers for course notes was brought up. After some discussion it seemed as if a managed share within each department (NT, Unix, whatever) would be more appropriate for this type of information. Math is already using the R: drive so consistency of using the R: drive seemed useful.
