The Faculty of Engineering, its departments and its School of Architecture, have bilateral exchange agreements with institutions of higher learning throughout the world. These are in addition to a number of "university-wide" agreements encompassing all faculties at UW, and some intergovernmental exchange agreements.
The number of active agreements involving engineering students is almost 60, encompassing institutions throughout Asia, Australia, Europe, Mexico, and the Pacific Rim. There are also additional agreements specifically for the UW School of Architecture.
Students who participate in any of the exchange programs will normally have completed at least two years of study beyond secondary school graduation and will usually have at least one year of study to complete at their home institutions.
