Hi Everyone
Well here I am in New Zealand. It was nice to exit the dreary weather of Vancouver. Just as I was getting a ride to the airport from Uli, I saw the sun setting as the clouds broke. I'm not sure about the police there? Vancouver has alot of cyclists and officers on bicycles. At the airport the officers were riding around IN THE TERMINAL, and they didn't have bike lights. They did have bells, horns or gongs. They were also going in and out of the sliding doors to the terminal. I wish I could do that and not get into trouble. Another weird thing about Vancouver is all the gum on the streets. Seems to be a local pastime, but it never turns into those black blobs. Uli reckons it's because there is so much rain.
Anyways hope to link up with a local Hang Gliding pilot tomorrow. After 15 hours flying and a stopover in Honolulu I sure was beat. The Honolulu airport terminal, on the second floor, is open to the tarmac which is strange. What happens when it rains with a strong wind? Got a place at the Albion tonight. It's a classic, my room is right over the hotel sign. Did a little walking around town, after my nap. I think I'll call this the holiday of Naps.
There sure are alot of internet cafes along Queen street (Auckland's main drag). Mostly filled with Asians and Polynesians playing first person shooters and Diablo. Sometimes this world seems so small.
Well, this is the first time I've ever gone to a foreign country, alone and without knowing anyone here. Kinda weird.
Glad they speak english.
Martin
PS. They have glow worms here.
