Biomedical Engineering: Human Function and Its Measurement

Project Description

Select an area or application of biomedical engineering that involves human function and its measurement or facilitation. Investigate the physiological and measurement aspects of your chosen topic. Submit a report of approximately 5000 words describing the results of your investigations. Your report should begin with an introductory section briefly describing your topic, why it is important and/or why you have chosen it. A section that describes the physiological aspects of your topic, in sufficient detail to allow the reader to understand its measurements aspects, should also be included. Your report should include details regarding the technical or measurements aspects of your topic including any assumptions and/or limitations involved. The current state of the art should be described as well as current problems and future goals related to the chosen topic. The report should conclude with an assessment of the area or application chosen. Descriptions and discussions in the report should be as quantitative as possible.

If it is possible to be involved in some form of biomedical or physiological research project involving measurement, data collection and/or analysis, a shorter report that describes the project and presents and discusses results can be submitted.
