Smart Diet Track

31

Without a proper diet, one can struggle to either gain or lose weight and thus, many people abandon fitness altogether. Keeping track of your diet is often difficult when it comes to calculating how many calories you are ingesting. The objective of this project is to design a mobile application that will allow users to track their caloric intake by either entering the name of the food item through text, scanning the barcode, or by simply taking a picture of the meal.

Prism - A Decentralized Writing Platform

32

Currently, there are no reliable writing platforms outside of self-hosting where writers can disseminate their content without fear of it being moderated, deleted, or banned. With self-hosting, there are technological barriers to entry and little discoverability, preventing authors from building an audience. We created Prism, a decentralized writing platform, where the insightful come to publish stimulating ideas and the curious discover. We offer authors full-ownership over their content, anonymity if so chosen, monetization, and non-partisan discoverability.

ConsoleHub

33

Video game consoles are more popular and accessible than they have ever been. Despite being a recreational source of entertainment, they pose as a distraction for students, especially in times when online learning is so prevalent. Determining console status through periodically measured current flow and relays to toggle the output to consoles, paired with our mobile application, ConsoleHub provides real-time notifications, console control, and metrics for parents to monitor and manage gaming consoles that their children use from virtually anywhere.

BRIDGE

34

With over 1 billion PC gamers in the world and the rise of chat platforms, connecting with other players online has never been easier. Yet, online coaches lack access to a standard tool for providing feedback on player gameplay. BRIDGE is a platform where coaches can easily edit existing videos to provide both depth and analysis while being able to export the file. These features are achieved through using video processing techniques and OS file systems knowledge.

R-Life

35

It's common for students, interns and even full-time workers to switch housing accommodations, and this often means living with strangers or random people. As 4 long-time roommates here at UW, we all know how it feels to have to move so often, and the difficulties that come along with this fast-paced experience! Rlife is an all-in-one application for managing roommate pains! Users are able to find new roommates through the app using a matching algorithm, assign tasks, plan activities, draw on a virtually shared whiteboard, manage expenses and message each other within the app. R life accomplishes this by leveraging database technologies, computer networks and distributed systems to store and compute data used throughout the app.
