March 12, 2015

We have finished assembling the Metal Maker in the shop and have started installing the electrical into the electrical box. The software is also moving forward and we will soon have a fully working printer. Below are some pictures of the mechanical and electrical systems at their various stages of completion. I will be uploading some videos soon.

The electrical is moving along with the motors connected to the two TinyGs and we are now working on getting a PCB layout done for interface with the sensors.

First Entry: Raspberry Pi Introduced to TinyG

January 18, 2015

The electrical side of the Metal Maker is coming along well. One tinyG is connected to all the major axis motors as well as limit switches for homing. We have introduced the Raspberry Pi to the tinyG so that the Raspberry Pi can now be the main control and we have succeeded in controlling the motors over Wifi. Here is a picture of the electrical set-up right now.
