The Metal Maker is a 3D metal printer which can rapidly produce metallic prototypes for the everyday hobbyist or start up business. The printer uses a hybrid design to deposit material on a base plate and machine away any excess material on specified surfaces. This design allows for the final product to be a fully functional prototype without worrying about cost of material or waste.
The Creatix Robotics team is currently working on assembling a prototype of the Metal Maker for the Design Symposium at the University of Waterloo on March 27th.
