Testing was completed in early November to validate the use of SMA actuators for the deXassist system
With prototype 2 deXassist is able to take advantage of a shorter length of SMA wire while still providing a full range of movement.
High accuracy posistion control has been achieved on prototype 2. Using bang-bang control, see the deXassist prototype step between 30 and 70 degrees.
The deXassist system is being built. Using aluminum and delrin our designs are becoming a reality. Soon the electrical and controls system will be integrated and the project will be complete.
The palm has been printed and is ready for the finger to be attached.
Prototype 4 is assembled and actuating the MCP joint
