  • UW Place

    UWP consists of a few buildings that forms something of a mini village. It includes Wellesley Court, Beck Hall and Eby Hall. There are also resident buildings designated for upper year students.

    Pros:
  • Suite style apartments, meaning that the rooms are single rooms (Huge rooms for Beck Hall)
  • On average, 2 to 3 people share one washroom (in each suite)
  • A kitchen for each suite; fully equipped with oven and stove
  • A living room in each suite (enough place to put TV set)
  • Food plaza and engineering building just right across

  • Cons:
  • No cafeteria
  • No air conditioning
  • Only one community center at Beck Hall
  • Mostly math or engineering students (no variety in people met)
  • no common areas (for tv or whatnot)
  • Isolated from rest of the campus

    Village 1 and Village 2 (Ron Eydt Village)

    V1 is probably the most famouse resident in Waterloo, it is in close reach within most of the buildings.

    Pros:
  • Cafeteria for easy access to food
  • A great place to meet friends (you get to hang out but dont' have to live together in a house and cause conflicts
  • Close reach within most buildings
  • Most populated rez
  • Billard tables, foosball table and large flatscreen TV at groud floor

  • Cons:
  • May be a double/interconnecting room
  • Not close to engineering buildings
  • No air conditioning
  • Washrooms/Bathrooms are shared in each floor
  • No kitchen to cook in (Minimal cooking is allowed
  • Guy's floor only have guys washrooms and vice versa... inconvenince for visitors of opposite sex

    Mackenzie King

    Mackenzie King is one of the newest in terms of renovations, each suite is equipped with an air conditioning unit! Best place to stay during summer time.

    Pros:
  • Suite style ... rooms/common area well defined
  • 2 full bathrooms in a 4 people appartment
  • Shared Kitched equipped with stove and fridge
  • Air Conditioned units
  • Study rooms/TV areas on each floor
  • Elevators! (for you lazy bums)
  • Cleaning services provided once a month

  • Cons:
  • Not close to engineering bulidings
  • Most expensive residence

    Columbia Lake Townhouses (CLT)

    Pros:
  • isolated - so you may be able to force yourself to study
  • nice community center
  • close to Sobey's and LCBO
  • Nice place for bbq/outdoor chilling

  • Cons:
  • far... if you live in #100, that's fricking far
  • laudry at community centre, have to walk outside
  • 1 washroom in a house and on 2nd floor
  • no cafeteria, cook your own food or you starve to death

    Colleges

    The college residents are quite far away from the majority of the campus. It consists of Renison college and St. Jerome's College. It has a huge cafeteria andt he sense of community in this rez is probably the best among all other residents.

    Pros:
  • Big cafeteria
  • Buffet meal plans
  • sense of community in rez

  • Cons:
  • Far away from the majority of campus
  • Cafeteria has fixed time for dinner and lunch
  • No air conditioning
  • Far away from any restaurants (even SLC)
