This is the window in the wooden frame we built for it. You can see the cables for the temperature sensors down at the bottom, but we haven't installed much yet.
Here you can see our toggle mechanism. This lets us switch between manual and motor actuation of the window.
It's a lot easier to control voltage than to actually control the temperature, so we made this rig for testing to simulate different indoor and outdoor temperatures. There's two potentiometers which directly control the voltage which the board thinks is coming from the temperature sensor.
And this is everything we made. Pretty small for three months' construction.
Here's a closeup of the user interface. The LCD lets you know what you're changing, the buttons let you change it.
