Helices: Introduction

These are examples of helices spiralling around a conical shape. On the left is a pipe reamer. It has 12 helices wrapping around a cone. On the right is a gear with 14 helices spiralling around a truncated cone. Notice the long pitch of the helice in both examples, ie. Very little curvature.
