How RangeRover Works

The RangeRover device attaches directly to your pet's existing collar and communicates with your Android device over a Bluetooth® connection. Through the Android application, you can easily set your pet's boundaries. The device uses the GPS coordinates of your smartphone and its on-board GPS location and accelerometer data to determine when the device, and therefore your pet, has exited the boundary. The base model will emit an ultrasonic sound (or sonic, if you choose, for training purposes) that gets increasingly louder as the dog comes within one second of the boundary until after crossing the boundary. The sonic setting, audible to humans, allows you to manually correct your dog when they cross the boundary until they associate the sound with the action, at which point the pitch can be increased steadily until it is within the ultrasonic range. The upgraded model contains a static-shock system for automatic correction, which can be disabled in the settings once the dog is trained using the device with only audible cues.

Why RangeRover?

Dogs get more exercise when off leash, but training a dog to walk off-leash is potentially dangerous. RangeRover provides a portable and easy-to-use solution.

RangeRover has many features to keep your four-legged friend safe during off-leash time:

Walk Mode

Used mainly for facilitating walks, this mode allows you to set your pet's boundary relative to your position. This means that your pet's boundaries will change as you move around.

Park Mode

Used for containment in a stationary area such as a park or backyard, this mode allows you to set an absolute boundary for your pet. This means that you can run around the park with your pet without worrying about any boundary changes.

Road & Water Avoidance

When in a large park, it can be difficult to ensure that any dangers to your pet have been eliminated from their permitted area. For this reason, you can set RangeRover to automatically remove roads, water, or both from the boundaries you select.

Block Select

RangeRover can automatically select an entire block from one tap of your finger. This makes it easy to set the boundary of any area enclosed by roads.

Fido's Favourites

The RangeRover Android application allows you to save both walk mode and park mode configurations for easy access to frequent boundary settings.
