VErgo

16

Over 80% of the working population in Canada will experience lower back pain (LBP). Despite the large industry revolving around office ergonomics, the current state of research suggests that there is no scientific evidence that prolonged sitting causes LBP. VErgo aims to bridge the gap between consumer device and ergonomics research by achieving large scale data collection of long term risk factors for LBP using motion capture technology.

HindSyght

17

HindSyght is a bicycling accessory that provides users with situational awareness based on the position and speed of nearby vehicles. Our product is designed to reduce the time cyclists spend looking over their shoulder such that they can focus on navigating the road directly ahead of them. Based on image processing and lidar measurements, it notifies the user if they are in no danger, low danger, or high danger through a combination of visual and auditory feedback.
