CAPSTONE DESIGN PARTICIPANTS

Nikhil Melgiri

IntuiFluids

44

A program to simplify complex thermodynamic and fluid concepts to easily teach incoming engineering students.

Gabriel Baranoski

Motorsport Design

45

The Purpose of this project is to design an active rear spoiler that will ultimately improve the performance of a track oriented 1982

Pontiac Firebird. The spoiler is custom designed to optimize the airflow around this specific car to improve downforce with minimal addition of drag.

The active design will also aim to dynamically control the aerodynamic forces acting on the car.

Snowbike

46

Power sport machines such as dirt bikes and snowmobiles are designed for specific seasons however, they are not typically designed for all four. Therefore, to ride year-round, one would need to invest in multiple machines which is costly. As such, the Snowbike project aims to retrofit the ski and track system from an old snowmobile onto a dirt bike thereby enabling the bike to be configured to all four seasons while keeping retrofit costs to $2,500 or less.
