FlashAI

14

FlashAI is a website that automatically generates flashcards (question and answer pairs) for any text that a user inputs, using machine learning and natural language processing. The advantage of this design is that it overcomes the most common roadblock people face when trying to study with flashcards; the process of creating a variety of detailed question-answer pairs. This way users can spend time doing what matters: reviewing and learning, instead of tediously creating cards.

Pathways

15

Keeping up with the latest technologies is an overwhelming proposition for developers. The objective of this project is to create a platform where developers can learn the required skills tailored to a job opportunity. Pathways recommends resources and courses based on job descriptions and enables industry experts to offer paid courses. With a course progression tracker, employers can gain another perspective of a candidate's ability, beyond the traditional resume and coding challenges. Pathways’ NLP algorithm also ensures credibility of user reviews for jobs and courses.

PhysioTelepy

16

PhysioTelepy will leverage tracking ability from a motion-sensing input device to analyze self-managed active exercises. The objective of this project is to provide a rehabilitation system that incorporates skeletal recognition to assist in the virtual delivery of physiotherapy services. Real-time analysis is done through the combination of computer vision techniques against a physiotherapist’s exercise model and a classification neural network. This is more accessible, lighter, and costs less than current physiotherapy devices that are temporarily placed in patients’ homes.

Dronee

17

The objective of this project is to design an online 3D modeling system used on targets of interest. This system utilizes an autonomous drone and existing computer vision technology for 3D modeling. The project utilizes localization algorithms incorporated with multiple sensors such as Internal Measurement Unit and Global Positioning System to localize the drone. The drone also utilizes autonomous path planning to navigate itself through the target area safely. Meanwhile, computer vision technology is used to complete the task of 3D modeling of given objects.

University Life Manager

18

University Life Manager (ULM) is an app that generates schedules tailored to university students. The application takes in the users’ academic and social goals. For academic goals, it creates a study schedule adapted to the user’s ongoing academic performance and goals. For social goals, it suggests social events based on users’ locations and free time. The advantage of ULM is that it produces flexible schedules by integrating tightly with university resources and by measuring a user’s ongoing academic performance to which the scheduler adapts.

ASL2SiGML

19

Of the 466 million people with disabling hearing loss globally, most use sign languages primarily, limiting communication with people using spoken languages. Most engineering efforts focus on translating American Sign Language (ASL) to English, assuming ASL users have a proficient understanding of English, thus neglecting English-to-ASL translation. ASL and English are linguistically independent; most people only know one natively. ASL2SiGML greatly increases the ease of integrating English-to-ASL translation into existing applications, which allows native signers to face less obstacles during social interactions with English speakers.

TypeInBlog

20

TyplnBlog is expected to have nearly all the advantages that Instagram offers, but our project provides real-time communication. It is like a mixture of Instagram and Wechat, which is a popular social media platform that has over 1 billion users in Asian countries. People can share their life, view others' lives, make friends and talk to their friends at any time.
