A MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIR
I am delighted to present to you the 2023 management engineering capstone design projects.
This brochure showcases all 15 projects that our students have completed in their senior year. Students have identified and tackled emerging problems in a range of domains and industries including healthcare, social services, human resources, lifestyle, and education. I am very proud of the innovative and impactful solutions they have developed, which offer critical process improvements and decision support tools to serve individual and institutional stakeholders. I also wish to thank each team’s faculty mentor who served as an advisor and provided valuable guidance throughout the capstone journey.
Our management engineering students are gifted and well-prepared to use their skills and knowledge to serve the world. Many of the projects this year address operational challenges for various units and organizations, both at the University of Waterloo and externally. I take this opportunity to thank the many external project sponsors and clients who have provided these authentic design experiences for the students and engaged with them throughout the project duration. If your organization is interested in working with a management engineering team in the coming years, please contact our capstone design course instructor, Ada Hurst.
Capstone projects are showcases of the talent, creativity and unique skillset of our students and an important milestone for them. I hope you enjoy learning about the impressive student projects through this brochure and by visiting the capstone symposium!
