Calamansi

The competitive job market has led recruiters to spend significant time seeking prospective candidates, sorting through hundreds or thousands of applications. While there exist software solutions that use machine learning (ML) techniques to automate the candidate selection process, their results are often questioned by recruiters for their lack of transparency and human agency. To eliminate this obscurity, we've created Calamansi. Calamansi leverages Continuous Active Learning techniques, enabling users to collaborate with our ML product so they can quickly and reliably obtain suitable candidates.

SmartManual: Helping Vehicle Owners Understand Their Vehicles

2

The general population experiences difficulty diagnosing car-related problems due to their lack of domain knowledge. This knowledge gap provides the opportunity to take advantage of non-expert customers. In light of this issue, Stefanie Bruinsma founded AutoCate: an organisation targeted at educating vehicle owners on their vehicles. We have partnered with AutoCate, to create a tool that allows non-experts to search their owner’s manual for vehicle information using their terminology, thus empowering them to learn about their vehicles and remove industry-domain language barriers.

The Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo & Stratford Perth (KWSPHS) is a non-profit organization focused on animal welfare with a growing community of over 70,000 members. KWSPHS is currently tracking over 20,000 profiles and connects with these clients regularly to update them and build stronger relationships. This project aims to develop an engineering design solution to reduce the time and effort required by the Marketing and Communications team to send out action items to various community contact types, including donors, fosters, volunteers, and adopters.
