SmartCart: Grocery Store Recommendation Engine for Cost Minimization
7
With rising inflation and resulting increases in grocery prices, many shoppers struggle to minimize grocery expenditure. Existing solutions to support this goal (e.g., digital flyer apps) are often tedious to use or lack sufficient data to facilitate effective decision-making.
SmartCart is a tool that enables cost-conscious purchasing decisions by recommending grocery stores to shop at to minimize the total price of a user’s grocery list. SmartCart leverages data on regular-priced items and flyer deals to generate recommendations - creating accurate estimates of a shopper's spending.
