Macro Snap
14
Macro Snap is a low-cost wearable armband that connects to your mobile device via Bluetooth. It can detect at least three distinct gestures and each gesture enables a different phone macro. For example, making a fist with your hand starts a timer or doing the peace sign plays a song on your phone. This wearable allows users to perform quick, repetitive everyday tasks on your mobile devices without redirecting their attention away from their surroundings.

Using your phone while biking isn’t safe - we want to change that. BikePlay is a smart bike helmet that places common phone features in front of a cyclists’ eyes using augmented reality.
It leverages the bulk of a helmet to mount AR technology which displays information onto the helmet’s visor.
BikePlay displays four pieces of information: directions, time, weather, and helmet battery charge.
Using the BikePlay app, users can control Bluetooth connections to the helmet, search for bike routes, and visualize battery levels.

We created a Distributed Underwater Positioning System (DUPS) that enables underwater vehicles to simply and quickly determine their precise location even in the presence of disturbances. Existing solutions are either highly susceptible to noise or require a lot of manual setup time.
We’ve partnered with Deep Trekker, an underwater vehicle manufacturer, to develop DUPS. DUPS consists of multiple stationary nodes that communicate via sonar to locate the vehicle. DUPS will enable underwater robots to operate in noisy areas such as docks and marinas.

Heliocopter
20
Heliocopter is a thrust-vectored belly sitter drone that can deliver high value density payloads across long distances while requiring minimal support and infrastructure. The drone is suitable for delivering payloads such as blood packets, medicine, or currency to remote locations in need. Heliocopter consists of a hollow carbon fiber flying plank airframe, such that the payload and electronics can be stored inside. An array of photovoltaic cells covers the top of the drone used to charge the drone while landed and during flight.
