iControBot

21

Robotics are being used in various industries to improve both safety and productivity; however, the current method of controls are unintuitive. These include keyboard or joystick controllers for movement in 3 dimensions. With the iControBot we aim to provide an intuitive robot controller solution using computer vision. This system tracks the user’s palm position to accurately control the end effector of a seven joint robot arm. This allows human operators to easily interact with the robot, therefore improving automation and human robot interaction tasks.

MyOnto

22

MyOnto is an innovative medical device that treats hyperhidrosis. This condition is caused by overreactive sweat glands and leads to abnormal amounts of perspiration. In the U.S. alone, 15 million people report a diminished quality of life as a result of hyperhidrosis.

MyOnto uses a safe and effective process called iontophoresis to promote ion transfer across the skin, which blocks the sweat glands. Our device features several improvements over current products. It preserves the patient’s mobility and provides mobile app-based treatment scheduling with efficacy measurements.

Tron Robotic Feeder

23

The robotic feeder is a system designed to help people with disabilities to have meals more easily without moving their arms or upper body. This system primarily comprises a robotic arm with a built-in gripper and an RGBD camera. Knowing what food the user wants through linguistic inputs, the system will then search for the target food on the table using computer vision, use a fork to skewer it, locate and then deliver the food to the user’s mouth.
