FormView

44

Ensuring proper and consistent form while working out is the key to long-term muscle growth and injury prevention. FormView is a revolutionary system designed to provide guidance for individual lifters to either learn or maintain good lifting form without the need to hire a personal trainer. With the help of computer vision and wearable multi-sensors, FormView uses a combination of physical and visual feedback to assist form correction in real time at any workout location!

The BRD

45

One of the main limitations of modern drones is their battery life. The major issue around a drone’s battery life is its loss of state upon a depleted battery. For land surveying drones and surveillance drones, this requires multiple images to be stitched together, potentially introducing errors into the results. The Battery Replacement Drone (BRD, pronounced "bird") aims to resolve the drone battery life issue by delivering a new battery to a target drone and replacing the target drone’s old battery without loss of state.

Grounded

46

Introducing Grounded: the revolutionary wearable stress recognition and relief device. Our device is designed to be comfortable and discreet. It measures stress using biometric sensors and a machine learning model. When stress is detected, the device will notify the user to use the app's guided breathing exercises and bilateral stimulation. With Grounded, you will be able to manage your everyday stress in a comfortable and discreet way, while you wait to access professional care. Get Grounded today and take control of your stress!

FireScope Robotics

47

Fires in industrial complexes, particularly warehouses, are a difficult problem for firefighters to approach due to the immense scale involved and dynamic layouts that result in inaccurate floorplans. FireScope Robotics provides a multi-robot autonomous solution that deploys in tandem with existing fire suppression systems, to map out a warehouse floor and produce a real-time map along with insights into the environment, which firefighters can then use to make more informed plans and decisions when combating fires.

Planter

48

Planter is a hydroponics system designed to automate key aspects of the plant growth lifecycle. Planter features a robust mechanical structure with support for up to 48 heads of lettuce or 6 tomato plants. An accompanying mobile application allows users to remotely control and monitor the health of their system. Equipped with system features such as automated nutrient dosing, pH control, and adaptive lighting, Planter greatly reduces the complexity of hydroponics plant growth for household consumers.

F1 Auto Aero

49

In Formula 1 racing, wind tunnel testing is an integral part of the design process and is time-capped by the governing agent of the sport. Our team has been working with Williams Racing to automate the drag reduction system within their highly constrained aerodynamic model.

Automating this motion eliminates the need for manual adjustments that are extremely costly to testing time. Our solution is contained within the aerodynamic surfaces and is robust under high wind speeds providing continuous, accurate, and efficient aerodynamic testing.

Mindful Motion

50

Every year, 75 000 Canadians who use a wheeled mobility device have a serious accident. Mindful Motion SENSE is a mobility device agnostic solution which improves the safety of the mobility device user. SENSE detects curbs, uneven terrain, tight areas, and objects using LiDAR and ultrasonic sensors. SENSE then alerts the user of any hazards via a bone conduction audio headset, and on electronically controlled mobility devices, actively avoids the hazards.
