Problematic levels of sediment currently accumulate upstream of a railway bridge spanning Birchlands Creek, a tributary of the Columbia River near Golden, British Columbia. This accumulated sediment restricts fish passage within the creek and threatens the integrity of the rail bridge under high flow events. RIFFLE Engineering aims to design a robust, multi-faceted solution that redefines sediment transport behaviours within the creek to promote fish passage while ensuring the integrity of the rail bridge.

Climate change has made water a precious commodity, limiting its availability, particularly in equatorial regions. As a result, communities are critically considering various approaches to reuse and recycle wastewater. While larger cities can deploy state-of-the-art treatment systems, rural communities cannot do the same due to their lack of capital and human resources to accommodate the systems' significant economic and operational support demands. HydroLoo Solutions® aims to design an innovative wastewater treatment process that can supplement the current wastewater treatment systems in rural communities.

Innovative urban planning and sewer systems have marked Mohenjo-Daro, a 4,500-year-old city, as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
However, the ancient city’s original stormwater infrastructure is ineffective against Pakistan’s changing climate. This past August brought a total rainfall depth 11 times the annual normal, resulting in major damages from flooding and runoff erosion. Excellence Engineering has been retained by the Government of Pakistan to design a stormwater management plan for the city of Mohenjo-Daro that is resilient to the current and future conditions.

JAMS Engineering Inc. (JEI) is pleased to present “A Solution to Develop a Green Long Haul Freight Corridor Along Highway 401 in Southern Ontario”. Currently, the Province of Ontario aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and reach a 37% emissions reduction from 1990 levels by 2030. The team will ensure that adequate infrastructure and policy is in place to support the green freight technology and ensure a seamless transition to achieve the anticipated emission reductions.

In today's age of rapid urbanization and climate change, there is a rising need for efficient use of limited resources. Our project focuses on a citric acid manufacturing facility that treats its high-strength wastewater stream with an energy-intensive process. YESA Consulting Inc. proposes upgrading the wastewater treatment plant to include a resource recovery facility for valuable bioresources, like biofuels or bioplastics.
The innovative and sustainable technology solves the existing energy inefficiencies and recovers green resources that offset the use of petroleum-based products.

Historical mining operations and urbanization in Yellowknife have resulted in contaminant accumulation and eutrophication in Frame Lake, which is adjacent to the legislative assembly of the Northwest Territories. Elevated arsenic concentrations in the lake have resulted in advisories against swimming, fishing, and harvesting plants near the lake and eutrophication has devastated the once healthy fish population. LCRD Consulting plans to rehabilitate Frame Lake to a state that can support recreation and fish life through the implementation of pumping from a nearby water source and phytoremediation.
