Hurricanes and floods are a growing threat to residents of the Philippines. The country is located in the most active cyclone basin in the world, the Northwestern Pacific Basin, where residents experience on average 20 cyclones per year. Due to increasing frequency of natural disasters and the growing pressure on the preparedness mechanisms, methods must be identified to reduce overall risk. JMAC Group has proposed a modular floating shelter for post disaster response to provide families with a reliable and safe shelter during storm events.
