            In the Department
          
        
        
          
            Mark Matsen
          
        
        
          joined the University of Waterloo in September 2013.
        
        
          He comes to us from the University of Reading (UK).
        
        
          Mark currently holds a joint position between the Departments of
        
        
          Chemical Engineering and Physics & Astronomy, and is located in
        
        
          the Waterloo Institute for Nanotechnology.  His research
        
        
          revovoles around the theory of structured polymeric
        
        
          systems, and his new developments on field theoretic simulations
        
        
          for modelling high molecular-weight polymers have attracted six
        
        
          invited talks in the last year.  Just recently, Mark joined the Editorial
        
        
          Board of Physical Review Letters, which is the world’s top physics
        
        
          journal and the 8th among all research journals.
        
        
          
            Cathy Logan-Dickie
          
        
        
          joined our department in December of 2013,
        
        
          as the Research Administrator, overseeing the financial aspects of
        
        
          our research accounts.
        
        
          Cathy joins us from University of Waterloo office of Research, as a
        
        
          Financial Analyst.  She held prior positions in industry at Merit
        
        
          Glass (Guelph) and Kitchener Fiberglass (Kitchener).
        
        
          Dale Henneke is now a faculty member at The New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology.
        
        
          Eric Jervis is now at StemCell Technologies, in Vancouver BC.
        
        
          Joao Soares is now a faculty member at the University of Alberta in Edmonton.
